WOW's Childrens
Angel Tree
Christmas
Drive 2019

Greetings and Blessings All,

This year WOW will help support eight children through the Salvation's Army Angel Christmas Tree. This program is designed to provide new toys, and clothing for a deserving child in Washington DC, or Prince George's County, Maryland.
Every Christmas there are children who do not receive gifts because their families are struggling financially and cannot afford the expense. The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program has been running for 40 years to ensure that these children have a wonderful holiday season with their families. WOW's staff is playing a small part in participating to help contribute to these efforts.

If we can put a smile on a few children faces for Christmas then we are happy to do so. We had an awesome day spending time at the Salvation Army Drop Off Facility for Sponsoring the Angel Children's Christmas Tree 2019. We got a tour of the facility. Sixty-Five Hundred families will have toys and other items for their children this year due to the generous donations of people. WOW is humbled to have an opportunity to play apart in giving and sponsoring 8 families. "We do small things in a BIG way." (From-the-heart)

Listed below are the staff names who participated this year and in their own few words they shared why they participated:

I love giving. It makes my heart warm to see or know that doing something for someone else will make them happy or put a smile on their face. I also remember growing up as a child, it was seven children my parents had to provide for so we didn't always get much but we each always received something. It was always something under the Christmas Tree for each of us in the morning. It gives me joy to do be able to do this. I'm always seeking ways to fulfill a need.
~ Pastor Denise A. Bethea

I donated to the Children Angel Tree Christmas because I remember as a child not getting any gifts or only getting one. It Makes me happy to know that I was able to put a smile on a child's face or to know they woke up in excitement for the gifts they have received because I chose not to be selfish and donate.
~ Evangelist Patricia A. Fowler

Giving to those in need for me is a matter of the heart. I have experienced first hand what it's like not being able to provide basic needs and necessities to my seven children such as food and clothing. Now that God had provided an opportunity for me to help someone else, I believe it is my responsibility to do so. It is my hope that the spirit of giving will ignite a light in someone who will also pass it along to someone else in need.
~ Mrs. LaTrell Watford-Yeager with her daughter La'Myr

I am a servant of God so because of that; it is my duty to do what God would desire.
~ Minister LeAnn-Peaches Williams-Hendrick
